> Hello,

www.snes-fr.com, a discussion abut BS Zelda 2, The ancient stone tablet has begun.
Hi there,
technically, I wouldn't say it is correct to refer to BS Zelda Ancient Stone Tablets as BS Zelda 2.
Sure, it is the second BS Zelda game, but by calling it that, you may get it confused with BS Zelda Map 2, which is an alternative version of the first BS Zelda game (not unlike the second quest of the original NES Zelda).
For a long time, lots of people referred to Ancient Stone Tablets as BS Zelda 3, because of its being based off of A Link to the Past (which many call Zelda 3). While one could say that, being there a Map two of the first BS Zelda, AST was in fact the third BS Zelda game, this also causes confusion because the actual ALttP was also broadcasted over the Satellaview BS-X (and a dump of it exists, which may be referred to as BS-X ALttP or Zelda 3 for the BS-X).
Consequently we have come to the conclusion that calling it BS Zelda Ancient Stone Tablets (or AST) is the better solution.
...but you didn't mail me to be told all that, did you? Let's get to the part you really want answered.

Translating BS Zelda AST to French... that is indeed as you people said on your forum "une bonne cause".
But what tools is it you are asking me about exactly?
You see, we did not make any custom-designed tools to translate these games, we used generic tools for hacking text into old console games. There's plenty to be found all over the net (like on
Lien site) and everyone has got their favourites ...but judging by your ongoing translations you probably already know this. So, I guess I might have misunderstood; maybe you had something more specific in mind. If so, then do please mail me again and tell me exactly what it is that you need.

You're welcome. It's always good to see people interested in these old would-be classics. I'm just sorry I couldn't be more helpful than this.
Salut et bonne chance!
